FUN with Algorithms

History

The FUN with Algorithm Conference was born from an idea of Elena Lodi, Linda Pagli and Nicola Santoro, that wanted to celebrate the 60th birthday of Prof. Fabrizio Luccio in a different way. Thus, they imagined a conference centered on one of the many passions of Fabrizio: Algorithms!! The first edition of FUN was just born....

Due to the success and to the many positive feedbacks of the first edition, the three creators decided to repeat the event every three years. From 2010, the conference became a biannual event.

La Maddalena, June 13--15, 2018

The ninth edition is held on La Maddalena island, in Sardinia.

FUN 2014

Lipari, July 1--3, 2014

The seventh edition is held on the Lipari island, in Sicily. A special issue of the proceedings has been published on Theoretical Computer Science.

FUN 2012

San Servolo, June 4-6, 2012

In 2012, the conference moves to the north of Italy, on San Servolo island, close to the city of Venice. A special issue of the proceedings has been published on Theory of Computing Systems.

FUN 2010

Ischia, Italy, June 2-4, 2010

For the fifth edition the conference is moved to Ischia, another beautiful island in the southern part of Italy. A special issue of the proceedings has been published on Theory of Computing Systems.

FUN 2007

Castiglioncello, Italy, June 3-5, 2007

Finally, for the fourth edition of the conference, a new location is chosen: Castiglioncello, a wonderful village in Tuscany. This is the first time, and so far the only one, the conference is not held on an island. A special issue of the proceedings has been published on Theory of Computing Systems.
